Smith co-anchors 13News Now at Noon and 13News Now Daybreak from 4:30 to 7:00 a.m. In addition, she also contributes to highlighting inspirational moments and people in Hampton Roads on 13News Now’s Making A Mark franchise.

She serves on 13News Now’s community outreach show as the host of ‘Coastal Connections.’ Prior to joining 13News Now, she worked at WCTV Chesapeake Television as an anchor and a freelance reporter. Smith is Hampton Roads Black Media Professionals, Inc. President. It is an affiliate chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists.

Furthermore, she works with a non-profit dedicated to ‘Here for the Girls’ as a board member. The organization aims to improve the lives of young women affected by breast cancer. She has also been a community, school, and services programs keynote speaker.

For seven years time, she participated in pageants, but she was well known after she was named the Miss United States in 2011. That same year, she made more than 235 appearances, promoted her platform of breast cancer awareness, and also traveled about 25,000 miles.
