While there, she worked as a Morning Reporter for almost two years.

One of her recognized reports was the coverage of a string of tornadoes that left a path of destruction throughout North Texas, even showcasing the damage nationally on FOX & Friends.

Before working in Dallas, she spent five years in Austin, Texas working for KTBC Fox 7. In the course of her time there, she worked as the weekend evening anchor and night-side reporter. She covered a series of investigations into mysterious homicides in Del Valle. Paredez also covered the devastation of Tropical Storm Harvey in Houston. Furthermore, she covered the church shooting in Sutherland Springs and package bombs in Austin.

Her journalism career began as a producer in Amarillo behind the scenes. After a short time, she was promoted to reporter and weekend anchor. During her final year there, she helped rebrand the morning show as a weekday reporter, anchor, and executive producer. She also did interview former President George W. Bush during the Wounded Warrior 100K bike ride. Furthermore, Paredez helped to raise thousands of donations for the tornado victims in Shawnee and Moore, Oklahoma.
