Arsema Thomas is an American Actress who happens to be among the cast members of Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story playing the role of young Lady Agatha Danbury. The series premiered on the 4th of May 2023 on Netflix. Asides from her role in the series, she also made appearances in films such as Redeeming Love as Rebecca.

Thomas attended Linden Hall High School where she obtained her high school diploma. While there, she was on the student council, drama club, National Honor Society, tennis team, debate team, and soccer team. Later on, she went on to pursue a safe career and got into a global public health course. She attended Carnegie Mellon University and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Biophysics in the year 2016.
After this, she went on to join Yale University School of Public Health(YSPH) where she obtained a Master’s of Public Health(MPH) having studied Health Policy with a concentration in Global Health. She obtained her Master’s Degree in the year 2018 with the goal of promoting health equity.
While she was at Carnegie Mellon University, Arsema was a proud member of the Beta Nu chapter of Delta Gamma Fraternity. After the death of her father, she decided to pursue an acting career. She took short courses at the Cours Florent in Paris, the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London, and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Later on, she started attending the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA). It is while there that her studies had to take a pause as she was cast in Queen Charlotte.

Thomas happens to be among the cast members of Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story playing young Lady Agatha Danbury. Back in the year 2020, she participated in online Shakespeare readings with the Market Theatre in Johannesburg. Later on, after signing with her agent Gary O’Sullivan of Accelerate Management in South Africa and London, she landed her debut film role playing Rebecca in Redeeming Love which premiered in the year 2022.
In the year 2022, it was also announced that she would be playing Lady Agatha Danbury, a role played by Adjoa Andoh later in life. This series premiered on the 4th of May 2023. She learned that she had been cast while she was working as a butcher’s assistant in Notting Hill.
Preparing for her role as young Lady Danbury, she read anti-racist and feminist literature by authors such as Zora Neale Hurston, Assata Shakur, and Angela Y. Davis. This is in addition to drawing insight from her own family namely her grandmother who had an arranged marriage at the age of 7. Thomas happens to be among the cast members of the new season of Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story which premiered on the 4th of May 2022. Here, she plays the role of young Lady Agatha Danbury. This new series consists of about 6 episodes.
A Bridgerton Story focuses on the young Queen Charlotte’s rise to eminence power as it follows two plotlines. These plotlines are the present Bridgerton in 1817 and Bridgerton in 1761 having Charlotte meeting and wedding King George.
