Poindexter serves at WMC Action News 5 as the weekend anchor and reporter. She earned a B.A. in broadcast journalism with a minor in political science from the Missouri School of Journalism. Poindexter joined WMC after working as a reporter and fill-in anchor in Savannah, Georgia. She covered several national stories while in Savannah, including the removal of the Confederate flag from the South Carolina State House, unprecedented floods in Columbia, South Carolina, and helping lead team coverage when Hurricane Matthew wreaked havoc on the Southeast.
Poindexter is a Tiger with pride. Arianna worked as a reporter for the NBC affiliate KOMU 8 News throughout college and spent four years as an intern at NBC Washington in Washington, D.C., reporting on the Missouri State Capitol. She grew up as a military child, moving all over the country from California to Washington, D.C., and even residing outside of the country in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Arianna is a member of the Missouri Alumni Association and the National Association of Black Journalists.
