Cooper serves at CBS as the primary anchor of the CNN news broadcast Anderson Cooper 360°. The show is usually broadcast live from a New York City studio. In addition to his duties on CNN, Cooper serves as a CBS reporter for 60 Minutes. Anderson also hosts Anderson Cooper Full Circle, a streaming show which airs on CNN’s digital properties on weekdays at 5 pm ET and is also available on demand. He began his career in 1992 and since then he has worked in more than forty countries and has covered nearly all major news events around the world, often reporting from the scene.

Additionally, he has played a pivotal role in CNN’s political and election coverage. Cooper has anchored from conventions and moderated several presidential primary debates and town halls. In 2016, he was chosen by the Committee On Presidential Debates to co-moderate one of the three debates between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.

Cooper is also a regular correspondent for CBS’s 60 Minutes. At CNN and 60 Minutes, he has won several major journalism awards. He helped lead DuPont Award-winning coverage of the 2004 tsunami and CNN’s Peabody Award-winning coverage of Hurricane Katrina. Cooper has also been awarded eighteen Emmy Awards, including two for his coverage of the earthquake in Haiti, and an Edward R. Murrow Award.

In 2016, Goes: A Mother and Son on Life, Love, and Loss, and The Rainbow Come– a collection of correspondence between Anderson and his mother, Gloria Vanderbilt, debuted at the top of the New York Times Best-Sellers List and remained on the list for three months. His first book, Dispatches from the Edge: A Memoir of Wars, Disaster, and Survival, was published in 2006 and also topped the New York Times Best-Sellers List and other bestseller charts.

Prior to joining CNN, Anderson worked as an ABC News correspondent and host of the network’s reality program The Mole. He anchored ABC’s overnight newscast World News Now and was a correspondent for World News Tonight as well as 20/20.
