Prior to her tenure at FOX7, Amanda previously worked for KCBD-TV where she served as a reporter as well as a multi-media journalist from December 2017 till his departure in December 2019. She previously worked for ABC27 where she served as a news reporter intern from May 2017 to the end of 2017.
While there, she planned various materials to be used in each day’s show as well as worked with AP ENPS to write, create, film, report, and edit stories. Prior to her time at ABC27, she previously worked for WPSU Center County Report where she served as a producer, anchor as well as a reporter from August 2016 to December 2016.
Ruiz was born and raised in New York, but she has a soft spot for Texas. She has traveled all the way from the Bronx, New York. She also attended Penn State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Political Science.
