Amanda Arnold is an American News Anchor/Reporter/Producer working for WDHN-TV since joining the station on the 27th of April, 2020. She produces, as well as anchors the morning newscasts on “Wake Up Wiregrass,” at 5, 6, and 10 pm, from Monday to Friday.

She is a proud alumnus of the University of Iowa, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education, Speech & Dramatic Arts, and English as well. Arnold started her TV career as a studio camera operator and floor director in production at WHO-TV,  an NBC-affiliated television station in Des Moines, Iowa, where she worked part-time weekends and nights.

One year later, she was employed as an on-set consumer reporter, and a general assignment reporter making her the first woman in the news industry. She went on to work for WAVE-TV, an NBC-affiliated station in Louisville, Kentucky, the next year, as a Weekend News Producer/Anchor/Reporter.

After 1 year, she was hired as a weekday noon reporter/anchor at an NBC-affiliated television station in Baltimore, Maryland, WBAL-TV, for 2 years. She then joined WKYC-TV, an NBC-affiliated station in Cleveland, Ohio, where she served as the lead anchor of the 6 pm and 11 pm newscasts for 2 years.

After that, she decided to return to Houston, where she was the host of the KHOU news shows at 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 10 p.m. and she sang in her husband’s country-rock band for 5 years until “DIVORCE” inspired her own bands “Station Break” and “Metropolis.”

For 5 years, she followed her passion for acting and music to Los Angeles, before returning to Houston, where she worked in television production before pursuing business prospects in Miami, West Palm Beach, and Orlando. She returned to Florida to work as Director of Community Relations at Boca Raton’s Hospice and Homecare By The Sea for several years.
