She is a proud alumnus of Northwestern State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism.
Courtney started her career in broadcasting in late 1998, as a morning show producer at an NBC-affiliated television station in Shreveport, Louisiana, KTAL-TV. She then shifted her focus to reporting and established herself as a one-woman show. She shot and edited all of her own stories before stepping in front of the camera. According to Alyson, she gained a lot of knowledge. It was the most difficult work she have ever had, but it was an experience she’ll never forget.
Courtney has covered major events, people, and causes all over the state, and her stories on the perils of drunk driving have earned her multiple Associated Press accolades, Edward R. Murrow medals, and an Emmy nomination.
Reporting live from Arkansas Razorback games is her favorite duty. She is a huge supporter of Arkansas Children’s Hospital, the March of Dimes, and the Arkansas Foodbank Network because she believes in giving back to her community.
Courtney has also worked for KTHV-TV, a CBS-affiliated television station in Little Rock, Arkansas. There she worked as a Weekday News Reporter, as well as Weekend Sports Anchor.
