Alex is CNN’s sports correspondent and anchor who has covered a wide range of sports for CNN’s “World Sport” show as well as CNNI’s news and business programs since joining CNN in April 2009. He has also covered the Wimbledon and French Open tennis championships, the Vancouver Winter Olympics, and the football World Cup in South Africa, in addition to reporting from the Champions League finals in Rome and Madrid in 2009 and 2010.
He has also conducted interviews with world-famous athletes such as Roger Federer, Usain Bolt, Padraig Harrington, Arsene Wenger, Ji-Sung Park, Michael Ballack, and Serena Williams. Alex is a regular contributor to CNN’s Living Golf show and has hosted it on a few occasions.
Alex worked as a sports reporter and presenter for Sky television in the United Kingdom, where he appeared on Sky News and Channel 5 News. He held a similar position at ITV News. He previously reported on the 2006 football World Cup, the 2006/7 Ashes cricket series in Australia, the 2007 rugby World Cup, the 2007 & 2008 Champions League Finals in Athens and Moscow, and the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing for previous companies. Alex began his radio broadcasting career in 1992 while studying sociology at the University of Warwick.
