Faust serves at FOX Sports as the television play-by-play voice for the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL). In 2018, he gained even more notoriety when Alex Trebek, the host of Jeopardy!, proposed that Faust take over as the show’s host. Faust took over as the Los Angeles Kings TV play-by-play announcer in 2017, replacing the legendary Bob Miller. Alex also works with NBC Sports Network and Westwood One Radio, calling NHL games. Alex calls various events for the Tennis Channel, including the French Open, in addition to his hockey work.

Alex worked for ESPN as a college football and basketball play-by-play analyst before joining the Kings. Calling college football for Sports USA Radio and college hockey for NESN were among his other duties. Alex worked as a radio broadcaster for the AHL’s Utica Comets from 2013 to 2016, calling the team’s first game, working as the 2015 AHL All-Star Game’s “Behind the Glass” reporter, and calling games during the team’s run to the Calder Cup Finals in 2015. Alex was also the voice of Northeastern University men’s basketball during that period, broadcasting the team’s first conference title in more than two decades and being one of the youngest analysts to ever work an NCAA tournament game at the age of 26. Faust previously worked in minor league baseball, most recently as the face of the single-A Staten Island Yankees for two years.

Alex was recognized as an up-and-coming talent in the sports broadcasting world when he received the Jim Nantz Award as a college junior in 2011, which is given annually to the best collegiate sports broadcaster in the nation. Alex earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and economics from Northeastern University in 2012.
