Countee serves as the weekend morning meteorologist at FOX4. He also does the noon show Monday through Wednesday, as well as some 9 a.m. shows, so keep an eye out for his forecasts. It all started when he was a kid when Kansas City was hit by a massive ice storm in January 2002.
Because of the record amount of freezing rain, almost every tree around his house had limbs on the ground for about a week, causing his home to lose power for about a week. He was perplexed as to how something as simple as ice could cause such havoc. The fascination with the weather grew over time, as the spring severe weather season brought powerful storms and the occasional tornado.
After graduating from Archbishop O’Hara in 2013, he went on to earn a degree in Atmospheric Science from the University of Missouri in Columbia in May 2017. He interned as a weathercaster at KOMU 8 News.
After college, his first major step in his broadcasting career took him to South Bend, Indiana, where he experienced every season and saw phenomena unique to the Great Lakes region, such as lake effect snow! Now that he’s returned home, he’s ready to face the wacky Midwest heat, cold, storms, snow, and everything in between.
