After graduating from college in the year 1999, Earhardt worked as a morning and noon news anchor from 200 to 2004. She then went to New York City where she covered the story of South Carolina middle school students. This was a landmark story as it attracted nearly half a million dollars for firefighters who replaced the one that had been lost at the World Trade Center site.
In the year 2005, Earhardt closed over to San Antonio, Texas, and anchored weekday morning and noon newscasts at KENS-TV. While living in Texas, she covered the Austin, Texas half-marathon, and also accompanied the United States Army’s Golden Knights in skydiving where at the Air Force Academy she flew as high as 16 feet with the United States Air Force Thunderbirds.
