Also, on changes in executive government, including the appointment of Dirk Kempthorne (then-Governor) to Secretary of the Interior under the administration of George W. Bush. RTNDA – Radio Television Digital News Association has honored Atchison with 4 Edward R. Murrow awards. In the year 2020, he was named “Best of the Springs” TV Morning Anchor. The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has also recognized Atchison with an Emmy Award nomination.
