Adam Alexander Career
Alexander serves at FOX Sports as the play-by-play announcer for the network’s NASCAR Xfinity Series coverage, a part of the pre-race coverage for the network’s NASCAR Cup Series efforts, and a host of NASCAR Race Hub. He also co-hosts NASCAR RACE HUB, FS1’s daily NASCAR news and information program, a role he took on in September 2013, and he plays an important role in hosting FOX’s NASCAR CUP SERIES races and prerace coverage from the track.
Alexander also hosts HUBCast, a weekly podcast launched by FOX Sports in mid-2016 in which he is joined by a variety of guests, including some of racing’s biggest names, to discuss the hottest topics in NASCAR. For the 2014 and 2015 seasons, Alexander handled play-by-play for FS1 in the NASCAR RV & GANDER OUTDOORS TRUCK SERIES, and he did the same for TNT’s coverage of the NASCAR CUP SERIES for five years.
For years, the versatile broadcaster was a key part of SPEED’s motorsports coverage, hosting SPEED CENTER (2011-2013), NASCAR LIVE (2012-2013), and NASCAR IN A HURRY (2008-2010), as well as co-hosting NASCAR RACE HUB and SPEED CENTER in 2010. Alexander also appeared on WIND TUNNEL WITH DAVE DESPAIN on a regular basis and was the network’s face for breaking news and special reports from the SPEED Studios for many years.
Alexander previously reported from pit road for SPEED’s coverage of the NASCAR RV & GANDER OUTDOORS TRUCK SERIES (2006-10) and TNT’s portion of the NASCAR CUP SERIES season (2010), as well as DirecTV Hot Pass. He also has extensive radio experience. He was a pit road reporter for the INDIANAPOLIS 500 for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Radio Network from 2001 to 2003, and then a rule of turn announcer from 2004 to 2006. In addition, from 2000 to 2006, he worked for Motor Racing Network (MRN) as a play-by-play announcer, pit reporter, and studio host, as well as covering the NASCAR XFINITY SERIES for the network.
Alexander, who played football and baseball in high school, worked as a sports anchor and sports director for various television stations in Indiana and Kentucky, covering football, baseball, and basketball. He began his broadcasting career at a local television station in Evansville, Indiana, where he also served as the Tri-State Speedway’s public address announcer and called games for the Evansville Purple Aces men’s basketball team.
