Abby Eden Career
Eden serves as an anchor of the FOX4 News Morning Show Monday through Friday from 4:30 until 9. She’s had a fascination with the news since she was a child, always watching the local and national news and observing the reporters and anchors. Abby pursued her dream of becoming a reporter at the University of Missouri in Columbia. There, she was a member of the Homecoming Steering Committee, the Honor Society: Omicron Delta Kappa, and a Summer Welcome Leader, among other things.
Abby interned at KOMU while attending the University of Missouri, where she learned every aspect of the job, from photography and editing to producing and anchoring. She also worked as an intern for a non-profit organization in Buenos Aires, Argentina. However, her first job as a reporter was in Tyler, Texas. She produced as well as anchored Tyler’s weekend newscasts and reported for Tyler and Longview’s evening newscasts. Abby also covered everything from crime to hurricanes while she was there.
Abby returned to the Midwest and FOX4 after three and a half years in Texas. Furthermore, she began her career as a Multimedia Journalist, primarily in Lawrence, Kansas. Then, for nearly six years, she co-anchored the 10 p.m. news with Phil Witt. Abby has also received a Barbara Jordan Media Award, an Emma Award, multiple Emmy nominations, and NLGJA award, a MORE Award as well as an Edward R. Murrow Regional Award for her work in journalism. Additionally, her passion is telling stories.
Her passion is telling stories that, through investigation or education, can have a positive impact on people’s lives. Additionally, she also enjoys spending time with her husband, Tyler, and their Australian Shepherd, Milo, and Hemingway cat, Dallas, in her spare time. Abby also runs a marathon and a half marathon. You’ll also see her running or working out at a variety of locally-owned gyms. She also enjoys trying new recipes and restaurants, going to philanthropic events in her community, and assisting pageant contestants with their competitions.
