While there, she worked as an evening news reporter, covering crime and politics, including a contentious mayoral election. Taylor was a member of KAKE’s investigative team. Her work included a medical story about a young girl suffering from an unknown illness. The girl died as a result of lung failure when she was only 17 years old. Doctors later discovered that a commonly used antibiotic may have been the cause of her death. Taylor’s work on this story assisted doctors in finding connections to other patients who had the same reaction but didn’t know why.
Adams earned a degree in Professional Media and Broadcasting from the University of Central Oklahoma. She discovered her interest in current events and public speaking through Speech and Debate. She claims she would never have considered a career in television news if it hadn’t been for the program.
