Cropper serves at WPXI-TV as the Chief Meteorologist. During the February 2010 Pittsburgh snowstorm, Stephen stayed on the air for nearly 24 hours, notifying viewers nonstop. During the tornado outbreaks of June 1998 and April 2002, he also gave life-saving information. Cropper recalls the back-to-back record-breaking rainfall brought on by Hurricanes Frances and Ivan in September 2004. “That served as a good reminder that the weather has an impact on all of us. “It’s the great leveler.” Stephen understands that viewers expect a local forecast that is accurate and easy to understand, as well as dependable severe weather coverage that will keep them safe.

Stephen is a graduate of Duquesne University School of Law and is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania as well as the Western District of Pennsylvania in the United States District Court.
