Shawn Householder is an American Multimedia Journalist/Meteorologist who is well known for having worked for WLUC-TV in Marquette, Michigan. He joined the station in May of 2018.

Householder has recently worked for WLUC as a Meteorologist/News Anchor. Before joining WLUC, he was in north-central West Virginia and southwest Georgia working as a weather forecaster. Householder has also been hired by commercial outfitters who run either multi or single-day trips(whitewater rafting guide).

Householder has been a student at West Virginia University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies. Also, he is a Mississippi State University grad. There he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Meteorology. During his collegiate years, he was a member of the West Virginia University Men’s Rowing Club. Currently, he is one of the Upper Peninsula Community Rowing Club members.

Throughout his career, he has won several awards. In 2019, the Michigan Association of Broadcasters recognized him with a Merit Award. Still, in the same year, he received the TV6 Employee Award and another award from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters for covering the best investigative story. In 2018, the Michigan Association of Broadcasters awarded him Merit Award. Additionally, he holds the Best Weather Forecast Award which he received in 2014 from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters.

During his leisure, he enjoys riding a kayak(a small, narrow watercraft that is typically propelled by means of a double-bladed paddle). He as well likes riding a bicycle or going to any fishing ground to practice fishing. He has cycled his bicycle through Iowa and from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Washington, D.C. With his two dogs, Wookiee and Windy, he also enjoys camping, hiking, and exploring the Upper Peninsula.

On Blakely’s TV6 Facebook page, she said that Householder had been making inappropriate advances toward her for many years, but the employers let him keep his job.

Householder had faced a charge of breaking and entering in 96th District Court, allegedly stemming from an incident in November 2020, where he entered Blakely’s house without permission. On September 3, 2021, the charge was filed. Ultimately, Householder was terminated by employer Gray Television.
