Greg Dee is an American Award-winning Meteorologist working for WFTS-TV in Tampa, Florida. He joined the station in February 2017.

Greg Dee Career

Dee serves at WFTS as a meteorologist, where his weather forecasts appear on ABC Action News Good Morning Tampa Bay every morning from Monday to Friday. Dee is a proud alumnus of Florida State University. He enrolled at the university in 2005, after some years in Farmington High School. He graduated from the university with a master’s degree in Geography, as well as a bachelor’s degree in Meteorology.

In December 2005, he began his first on-air job as a meteorologist at an ABC-affiliated television station in Dothan, Alabama, WDHN-TV. He didn’t stay there for long before being promoted to be the Chief Meteorologist. Dee served at the station for 2 and a half years.

He then moved to Little Rock, Arkansas in May 2008, to work for KARK-TV, as the weekend meteorologist. In July 2011, he resigned from the station. He then went to work for Nexstar Broadcasting Group for 5 years and 8 months. From February 2013 to January 2015, Dee was working for Fox 16 Good Day, holding the positions of News Co-anchor, as well as Meteorologist. Dee has also worked for WKYC-TV as the morning meteorologist.

Throughout his career, he covered everything from ice storms to tornadoes to hurricanes to floods to Lake Effect snow and even sea breeze thunderstorms.

Dee holds an American Meteorological Society(AMS) seal from the National Weather Association. He also holds three Regional Emmy Awards for “Best Meteorologist”. Additionally, he is a proud recipient of the Arkansas Time Magazine Runner-Up Award, the 2007 Hometown Hero Award, and the 2008 AMS Awards.
