Marin completed her high school at Palatine High School and completed her bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois. Marin serves at NBC 5 Chicago as a news reporter. Before joining NBC5 News she was working as an anchor and reporter at WBIR-TV.
She started her career in Tennessee at WBIR-TV and continued at WSM-TV in Nashville where she both anchored and reported. In NBC5 News where she worked as a reporter and anchored the 6 & 10 p.m. newscasts until May 1997. The producers Don Moseley and Marin were hired by CBS News. Marin worked as an investigative reporter and a network correspondent at WBBM-TV, the CBS station in Chicago.
She received the Peabody Award in 1997 for her body of work. Moseley and Carol received another Peabody in 1998 for their documentary on the facially disfigured. Marin won the Gracie Award from American Women in Radio & Television in 2002. She also earned an Honorary Degree from Governors State University at the 47th commencement ceremony on May 19, 2018.
