Howard serves at 11Alive as a News Anchor. The proud Spartan landed her first news job behind the scenes as an assignment editor in Atlanta after graduating from Michigan State University. Aisha got her start in front of the camera at WCTI NewsChannel 12 in New Bern, North Carolina, after learning the ropes in a fast-paced city where the news never stops. She went from weekend reporter to weekend anchor in no time. It was time to return home to the place where she fell in love with the news after nearly three years of connecting with the community and delivering news to the people of Eastern North Carolina.
Aisha’s next role as a weekend anchor with FOX59 in Indianapolis boosted her journalism career with a fierce determination for storytelling. She was promoted to weeknight anchor of the station’s 11 p.m. newscast, NewsPoint at 11, which topped the ratings with Aisha as the show’s sole anchor. Aisha covered national and international entertainment news, during the 2016 presidential election, and was nominated for her first Emmy award while in Indiana. Aisha is proud of the full-circle moment that has brought her back to Atlanta to co-host Up Late weeknights with the 11Alive team. You can find her exploring the arts and live music scene in town.
Aisha is a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the National Association of Black Journalists. Volunteering and uplifting teen girls, as well as advocating for domestic violence survivors, are two of her passions.
